Bizcap review: fast short term business funding and lines of credit

Bizcap offers short term business loans and lines of credit from £5,000 to £1 million, with fast decisions. Who it suits, what it needs and alternatives.

Bizcap is an alternative business lender that offers fast, short-term funding to UK limited companies, including those that already have other finance or a less than perfect credit history. Its products run from quick working capital loans to lines of credit and property backed bridging. Bizcap is one of the lenders on our panel, and we can set its offer against longer term options before you commit to short repayments.

About Bizcap

Bizcap says it was founded in 2019 in Australia and has since expanded to the UK, New Zealand, Singapore, the US, Canada and Europe. It reports funding over £3 billion globally. In the UK it trades through Bizcap Limited, a company registered in England and Wales.

The company describes itself as an open minded lender, built on the idea that small businesses should get fast access to funds even if they have existing loans or do not have a perfect credit score. Speed is central to the pitch: it says online applications take under five minutes and some loans can be approved in as little as three hours.

What Bizcap funds

Bizcap lists five products on its comparison page. All the amounts and terms below come from that page.

ProductTypical sizeTypical termWhat it is for
Fast business loan£5,000 to £150,0003 to 12 monthsShort term cash flow, unexpected costs, funded the same day
Small business loan£5,000 to £500,0003 to 12 monthsGrowth, stock, hiring and equipment
Secured business loan£30,000 to £1,000,0003 to 12 monthsLarger investments backed by property
Bridging finance£150,000 to £1,000,000Up to 12 weeksTemporary gaps with a clear exit, for property owners
Line of credit£5,000 to £500,000OngoingDrawing funds as needed and paying only on what you use

Repayments on its loans can be daily or weekly, and Bizcap says early repayment is rewarded with a discount rather than a penalty. Short, frequent repayments work like many short-term business loans and some merchant cash advance products: fast to arrange, but heavy on cash flow while they run.

The line of credit is the more flexible option for repeat needs. Our revolving credit facility guide explains how these facilities work.

Who Bizcap suits (and who it may not)

Bizcap is likely to suit:

  • Limited companies needing funds within a day or two, for example to cover a tax bill, stock order or urgent repair.
  • Businesses that already have other finance in place, which some lenders treat as a barrier.
  • Younger companies: the main loans need only four months of trading.
  • Owners with imperfect credit where trading is strong.

It may not suit:

  • Sole traders and partnerships, as Bizcap asks for an active UK company registration number.
  • Businesses turning over less than £12,000 a month, its stated minimum for most loans.
  • Long term investments, such as buying premises or major equipment, which need longer terms.
  • Businesses with tight margins, where daily or weekly repayments could squeeze cash flow.

What Bizcap looks at

Bizcap publishes clear minimum criteria:

  • An active UK company registration number.
  • At least four months of trading and monthly revenue of £12,000 or more for fast and small business loans.
  • At least five months of trading for secured loans.
  • At least nine months of trading and monthly revenue of £20,000 or more for a line of credit.
  • For bridging, property ownership and a clear exit strategy.

Typically, short-term lenders of this kind also review recent business bank statements to judge affordability and may ask directors for a personal guarantee. Be ready to explain any existing finance and what the new funds are for.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Very fast decisions and funding, often within a day.
  • Open to businesses with existing loans or imperfect credit.
  • Low trading history requirement of four months.
  • Discounts for repaying early, according to Bizcap.

Cons

  • Short terms of 3 to 12 months mean large repayments relative to the amount borrowed.
  • Daily or weekly repayments put pressure on cash flow.
  • Limited companies only.
  • Fast, flexible funding usually costs more than a longer term loan for a strong business.

Applying through a broker vs going direct

Bizcap's application is quick, but speed can lead businesses to take the first offer when a longer, cheaper loan was available. Stacking several short term facilities is also a common route into cash flow trouble. We search the market, compare short-term lenders with longer term unsecured options, and approach suitable lenders with one application. It is free to enquire; any broker fee is disclosed separately before you proceed.

Alternatives to Bizcap

  • iwoca offers flexible unsecured funding for small businesses and is often a useful comparison for smaller amounts.
  • Capify offers merchant cash advances and revenue-based finance, which may suit businesses with card takings.
  • Fleximize provides unsecured and secured business loans and may offer longer terms.

If you already have short-term funding, our refinance merchant cash advance guide explains how to move to a more manageable structure.

This guide is general information, not financial advice. Lenders set their own criteria, rates and terms, and all finance is subject to status.

FAQs

Common questions

How fast can Bizcap fund a business?

Bizcap says fast business loans can be approved in as little as three hours and funded the same day, with small and secured loans in around 48 hours. Timing depends on how quickly you provide information.

Will Bizcap lend if I already have a business loan?

Bizcap says it will consider businesses that have existing loans. It will still check affordability, so total repayments across all facilities need to be manageable.

Can a sole trader use Bizcap?

Bizcap asks for an active UK company registration number, so it is aimed at limited companies. Sole traders can look at other lenders; see our sole trader loans guide.

Is a Bizcap line of credit better than a loan?

A line of credit suits repeat or unpredictable needs, as you draw what you need and pay only on what you use. A loan suits a one off cost. Bizcap's line of credit needs nine months of trading and £20,000 monthly revenue.
