How a fast business loan works
You tell us how much you need and what it is for. Instant Quotes checks your company against the lenders on our panel and shows the ones that fit, with rates and monthly repayments. When you choose to apply, the application goes straight to the lender, and many come back with a decision in principle within minutes.
An offer shows the amount, the rate, the monthly repayment and any fee before you sign. Once the agreement is signed and the checks are done, funds can arrive within a day or two.
Which businesses get the fastest answers
Lenders move quickest for limited companies that have traded for at least a year, file their accounts on time, have a clean credit history and can show the repayment is affordable from their profits. If that is you, an unsecured business loan is often the simplest route.
Newer businesses, or those with missed payments in the past, can still borrow. It is usually a different lender, sometimes at a higher rate, and our bad credit business loans guide explains the options.
Three ways to borrow
A term loan up to 6 years. One lump sum, repaid monthly. Good for growth, equipment, hiring, a fit out or equipment that will pay for itself over time.
A government backed loan. Loans under the Growth Guarantee Scheme are partly guaranteed by the government, which can help a lender say yes.
A revolving credit line. A limit from £2,000 to £250,000 you dip into for stock, bills or VAT, and repay over up to 12 months. Read about a revolving credit facility.
What people use it for
Paying a corporation tax bill or a VAT bill on time, buying stock ahead of a busy season, covering the gap while customers pay, taking on a contract, or working capital to grow. If you need money in days rather than weeks, see our guide to emergency business loans.
Why use a broker
We are a whole of market commercial finance broker. We search over 300 lenders, put your application to the one most likely to say yes, and stay with you until the money lands. If the first lender says no, we take it to the next one, so one decline is not the end of it.
Fast business loan questions
How fast can I get a business loan in the UK?
With a limited company that files its accounts on time, many lenders give a decision in principle within minutes of a full application, and some pay out within 24 to 48 hours of the signed agreement. Bank loans usually take two to six weeks. The quickest route is to send everything at once, so start with Instant Quotes to see which lenders fit before you apply.
Can I get an unsecured business loan without a personal guarantee?
Most unsecured business lenders ask the directors for a personal guarantee, because there is no property or asset behind the loan. A guarantee is a promise to repay if the business cannot, so read it carefully. Personal guarantee insurance can cover part of that risk.
How much can my business borrow?
Unsecured loans on our panel run from £10,000 to £750,000. Lenders usually look at around a quarter of annual turnover as a starting point, then check profit and existing borrowing to make sure the monthly repayment is affordable. A business turning over £400,000 with healthy profits can often borrow around £100,000.
What is the Growth Guarantee Scheme?
The Growth Guarantee Scheme is run by the British Business Bank. The government guarantees part of the loan to the lender, which helps lenders say yes to businesses they might otherwise turn down. You still repay the full amount, and directors can still be asked for a personal guarantee. Terms run up to 6 years.
What is a revolving credit line?
A revolving credit line is a limit you draw on when you need it, for stock, supplier bills, VAT or a busy season, and you only pay interest on what you use. Each payment you make frees the limit up again. Read more about a revolving credit facility.
Will checking my options affect my credit score?
No. Instant Quotes uses your answers and public Companies House records, so there is no credit search. A lender only runs a credit search once you choose to apply, and you tick to agree to it first.
What do I need to apply?
Usually your company number, the latest filed accounts, six months of business bank statements and the directors' details. Some lenders decide on the application alone and only ask for statements if they need them. Having them ready is the single best way to get a fast answer.
Do you charge a fee?
There is nothing to pay upfront. Lenders may charge an arrangement fee, which is shown in the offer before you sign, and we are paid by the lender. Every loan is subject to status and the lender's own checks.
