£600K arranged, then another £400K as the business grew.

Growth can create a funding problem of its own.

Structure
£600K facility, then £400K
Outcome
Repeat funding relationship

A rapidly growing UK training provider had scaled from a relatively modest operation into a substantial national business. Its funding requirements had grown with it.

  1. The requirement

The company required a significant injection of capital to support its continued development. This was no longer a small-business funding requirement. A facility of £600,000 was ultimately completed.

  2. The challenge

Fast-growing businesses can be unusual credit cases. The numbers can be strong, while the rate of expansion, existing facilities and changing working-capital requirement make the overall picture considerably more complicated than an established company growing at 5% a year.

This particular business subsequently grew to turnover in excess of £13m and later required a much more sophisticated refinancing exercise around a substantial existing debt stack. That later requirement illustrates exactly why funding strategy matters during rapid expansion.

  3. The structure

We worked across the alternative lending market and secured a £600,000 facility for the business.

It wasn’t the end of the relationship. As the company continued scaling, further substantial transactions followed, including another £400,000 facility.

  4. The result

Rather than growth being constrained by the amount of cash already sitting in the company, external funding helped provide the capital capacity to continue expanding.

Have a similar requirement?

Every case is different, but the approach is the same: understand the business, structure the requirement, and take it to the lenders suited to it.
